Instructions:

1. To begin, go to %USERPROFILE%\.android and edit the adb_usb.ini file, and add this to the end of the file saving it when done:

1. Open the google-usb_driver folder found in the Android SDK folder and edit android_winusb.inf to add this to the [Google.NTx86] section and [Google.NTamd64] section:

1. Once done, save and close.


2. If your device is already plugged into into the USB, you may have to open Device Manager to findKindle under other devices and choose the android_winusb.inf file to update the driver.


3. Now on your device, make sure USB Debugging is enabled. Also make sure Installation of apps from unknown sources is also turned on.


4. Now open command prompt or a terminal and enter the following commands:
   

   
   adb kill-server
   
   adb devices
   



5. If you see a device listed, you’re good to go with the rooting process.


6. Run SuperOneClick and hit the Root button to begin the rooting process.
